Like educational researchers, curators do a lot of their work in the space of possibility and potentiality. Many are concerned with cultivating the not-yet-realized qualities and dimensions of an artwork or a collection of works. Examining the practices of two internationally acclaimed curators (Hans Ulrich Obrist and Dave Hickey), this paper considers how the acts and outcomes of curating as well as the concept of the curatorial might be instructive for the conceptualization and actualization of educational research. It might contribute to the development and articulation of additional modes of educational inquiry and research representation.
