The purpose of this study was to explore whether racially salient images increased test performance, reduce stereotype-threat and anxiety among Black collegians. Students in the experimental condition (racially salient images termed the “Mirror Effect”) had lower levels of anxiety and stereotype threat than those in the control condition (no images).
