In a social-justice-centered education program, three partnering researchers studied and synthesized their personal ideas of social justice and their impact on students. Building on concepts from Rios' (2018) conscious engagement framework of teacher agency for equity, data were collected on notions of identity as teachers of social justice through sense of purpose, competence, autonomy, and reflexivity in our own teaching practices utilizing a collaborative approach to self-study method. Preliminary results indicated that teacher identity had a great impact on evolutionary progress of their own teacher agency, which through modeling and mentorship was also transferred onto student agency for equity.
