Abstract

Comparison via a t-test between a Subset and Remainder from Subset and Total Sample Mean, SD and N are illustrated, and introduced as a teaching tool for an Educational Research class. A spreadsheet for this calculation is offered that makes it very simple, and also offers tests of HOV with appropriate Welch t-test used, if that assumption is violated, as well as Cohen’s d.
