Executive functions (EF) are critical to the academic achievement, school behaviors, self-regulation, and social-emotional development of all children and adolescents. Can school-based executive function interventions achieve their intended aims in enhancing these skills? Participants in this session will learn the results of a meta-analysis that comprehensively synthesizes recent evidences from randomized controlled trials (RCTs) concerning the efficacy of school-based executive function interventions on typically developing 3-18 year-old children and adolescents’ executive function skills, academic achievement, and social-emotional and behavioral outcomes. They will gain knowledge regarding the most effective interventions, effective implementation processes and strategies that maximize the benefits of executive function interventions in school contexts.
