Perceptions About Career and Technical Education: Are We on the Same Page?

Abstract

In this study we report the results of a survey concerning perceptions about Career and Technical Education. This is the first survey ever conducted in the state, and the results should help in adopting policy changes.
Total survey respondents were 1,472. The study shows positive perceptions among respondents in the four areas in which questions were grouped: value of academic content, value of experiential learning, counseling and advising, and the societal role of CTE. The analyses also indicates difference of perceptions between groups of respondents.
