Where Do We Begin? Understanding District Leader Decision Making About 1:1 Educational Technology Initiatives

Abstract

As 1:1 technology programs become increasingly prevalent in schools, more research is needed to understand the factors that allow these programs to successfully shift teaching and learning. This study investigates how superintendent and district technology leaders make and understand decisions about 1:1 technology programs. Using literature on district and technology leadership, this study offers an exploration of how to improve district decision-making structures and activities to foster stronger, more equitable, and more informed decisions.
