Tue, April 9, 10:25 to 11:55am, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 300 Level, Hall C

Abstract

In this study, students’ perceptions and attitudes towards the use of game-based assessment (GBA) in a classroom setting and potential factors which can be related with their attitudes were investigated. Key issues and advantages of GBAs were identified by reviewing the literature. Based on the review, a survey was developed to measure students’ perceptions. Students were asked to respond this survey after experiencing a GBA in their course. In this study, we first inspected the reliability and validity of the survey. We then explored the students’ perception and emerging themes from students’ responses to our survey. By correlating the scores of the survey, we also reported the potential factors which can influence students’ perceptions.
