This research measures and assesses the impact of a School Mathematical Championship held in Chile every year since 2003 on students' opportunities to pursue university studies. The focus of interest is social justice. It is a quantitative study, and the Propensity Score Matching method has been used to define a properly control sub-sample. After the matching, differences between means are made to compare the results between control and treated sub-samples. Findings show significant differences between means of both sub-samples on every factor considered to access university, and especially strong differences are reported in case of students from lower-income backgrounds.
