This study analyzes the outcomes of Bronx County Public high school students. On a prior study (Author, 2016), it was found that among all New York City public high schools, Bronx County public high schools were, on average, less wealthy, high-minority and more racially segregated, and had the lowest academic outcomes. In the present study, we analyze Bronx public high schools that report a 4-year math requirement, excluding specialized schools, and we compared them against other Bronx public high schools. We found that the 4-year math requirement correlated significantly with better student outcomes and students’ future college plans.
