This study aims to examine the impact of personal and institutional characteristics of foreign faculty on their research performance in terms of the number of publications. Two datasets—a set of survey data based on all four-year HEIs in Korea, and data from the Korean University Information Disclosure System—were analyzed. The t-test, correlation analysis, and regression analysis were employed. The results revealed that location, type of institution, and current position are the factors that significantly influenced research publication of foreign faculty in Korea. Related policy recommendations are also discussed.
