This qualitative study aimed to capture the experiences of a middle-school science teacher at a suburban private school tasked with a new role of implementing and teaching a STEM early learning program for pre-kindergarten to third grade classes. Data from an observation and interview of this teacher’s work with kindergarten children principally around technology was the basis for the themes that emerged. How these emergent themes speak to the challenges of reconfiguring STEM content within developmental appropriate practices will be shared.
