Abstract

This paper presents the updated results of an inquiry that began 36 years ago in this very SIG, then called the AERA Special Interest Group on the Creation and Utilization of Curriculum Knowledge (Short, Willis, & Schubert, 1985). At the AERA annual meeting in New York City Schubert, Posner, and Schubert (1982) presented a paper called “Professional Preferences of Curriculum Scholars: A Genealogical Study” in which they shared the results of survey-based research into the authors and literature that the then-current generation of curriculum scholars considered most influential to their work and the field in general. The authors of this paper revised the 1982 survey and distributed it to the present-day members of curriculum-focused professional associations, with results presented herein.
