The purpose of this study was to examine the impact of a six-component comprehensive school physical activity (PA) and healthy eating (HE) program on the reading and math achievement of 628 (377 intervention) children in 5th grade using individual curriculum-based measures. Those in the intervention group demonstrated a faster rate of improvement than the comparison group in both reading and math over one school year.
