Latinas in the United States (U.S.) are disproportionately underrepresented in leadership roles. The literature on Latino leadership is scarce. The literature on Latina leadership is even more so. According to Méndez-Morse, “researchers rarely include minority women in studies focusing on leadership, and few focus specifically on this (Latina) population” (Méndez-Morse, 2000, p. 584). This study will attempt to fill in the gap in Latina leadership literature by conducting a thematic analysis of interviews of Latina participants of a local culturally-tailored leadership program. The study will explore what impact the culturally tailored leadership program had on select Latina participants and what aspects of the leadership program were most and least effective.
