Abstract

This study examines the proximity of for-profit institutions of higher education to communities of color. Critical Race Spatial Analysis and Geographic Information Systems inform the exploration of merged data from IPEDS and the U.S. Census to reveal racial demographics in areas surrounding California’s proprietary institutions. Findings center on the Greater Los Angeles Area and predominately Hispanic/Latina/o/x communities.
