Microscopic Discourse on Democratic Knowledge: The Knowledge of Freedom Unto Equality

Abstract

This paper is to elaborate the democratic idea of freedom as an existential knowledge through a microscopic discourse in the democratic-capitalistic-multicultural society. The democratic idea of freedom is examined first by specifying the social context into temporal and spatial and delving into two common denominators drawn from each context in terms of the relation of freedom to equality. To substantialize the democratic freedom into a human knowledge in a microscopic way, the relation between individual-historical context and individual-social context is scrutinized in terms of the conceptual function of freedom which may render each of children aware of his/her own existence in the temporal-spatial context to make a better choice for individual and social good in their lives.
