Fri, April 5, 4:20 to 5:50pm, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 700 Level, Room 717A

Abstract

The current research is aiming at investigating Chinese adolescents who experienced sexual harassment and abuse in the dimensions of their demographic characteristics, school sexual education and family background. For the purpose of finding the potential trends, a comparative data analysis was conducted between participants who had such experience and who did not. According to our findings, all three influencing factors had significant relationships with adolescents’ sexual harassment and abuse experience, and patterns were found in certain aspects. The results of this study suggest that future research needs to be conducted on how these factors have impacted adolescents’ risk of sexual harassment and abuse.
