Mon, April 8, 10:25 to 11:55am, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 800 Level, Hall F

Abstract

This paper qualitatively and narratively analyzes of the experiences of a parent/child pair, relationally considering the coach/researcher’s presence, over the course of a larger study focused on building access to and reliable use of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) through typing. This work both highlights the qualitative interactive and skill-based evolution in the parent/child’s communication partnership, and calls forth the ways that individualized and relational methodological decisions helped to co-construct such experiences.
