Evaluation of Research and Knowledge Transfer in Education: The Spanish Case

Abstract

In 1989, the Spanish government launched a program to evaluate research activity. According to this regulation, university professors could submit their productivity to evaluation every six years, based on five research elements, mainly publications in scientific journals. Different evaluation criteria by scientific fields were established.

At the end of 2018, the government added to this program the evaluation of knowledge transfer, with a general character and with the same criteria for all scientific fields.

This presentation will analyze the results of the research evaluation program in the field of educational research in Spain, and the reaction to the call for evaluation of knowledge transfer through a broad survey recently conducted in Spanish universities
