Abstract
Recent work in education research has engaged with Indigenous relational knowledges and posthumanist perspectives to interrupt depoliticized understandings of learners’ relations with the world. This scholarship brings together place attuned critiques of current settler colonialism and anthropocentrism in education. While important anti-colonial possibilities continue to be enacted by these inquiries into ‘more-than-human’ ontologies, biologies and epistemologies, questions remain regarding obscurances of inequitable dispersions within the category of ‘human’ in moves to unsettle anthropocentrism and settler colonialism in education. Accordingly, this panel grapples with the question of how education research might engage with more-than-human/human entanglements while simultaneously engaging with an anti-colonial, anti-racist politics of human differentiation.
