Session Type: Symposium
This interactive symposium brings together teacher educators from across 16 colleges and universities to discuss the ways in which they collaborated throughout the course of a year to critically redesign their teacher education courses and programs. The papers are grouped in thematic strands of their work: collaborative work towards social justice education, supporting teacher activism and identity, integrating pre-service teachers of color funds of knowledge into teacher education, and collective, critical re-design of coursework. The presenters will describe the multi-modal, inquiry-based, collaborative processes they used during the year and the outcomes of their work. Furthermore, they will invite audience members to participate in some of these inquiry activities and discussions related to these topics.
