This symposium of motherscholars creatively and performatively shares data responding to the call for research that crosses methodological and epistemological boundaries to resist the post-truth double bind of a disrespected craft in a disrespected field. Each paper draws from concepts of revolutionary mothering (Gumbs, Martens, & Williams, 2016), racial literacy (Guinier, 2003), and critical race parenting (Matias, 2016) to engage multimodal ways of researching/seeing/acting/knowing. We take up “the work of recalibration” in our lives and research “…to be answerable to learning, knowledge, and living beings’ needs (Patel, 2016, p.) when the chips are down.
