Sun, April 7, 9:55 to 11:25am, Sheraton Centre Toronto Hotel, Floor: Mezzanine Level, Cedar

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

This session presents innovate work on arts-based methodologies and toolkits tackling sexual violence. We will share our arts-based, anti-sexual violence toolkit created under the umbrella of a larger SSHRC-funded project on rape culture in universities, and our findings from three studies exploring different aspects of toolkit development, implementation, facilitation, and participation. Audiences will learn about the benefits and challenges of using arts-based methodologies for sexual violence prevention, education, and response. The session will also delve into the complexities of implementing and facilitating arts-based interventions, exploring how facilitators use toolkits and apply frameworks in their practice. Presentations will also offer a deep look into the relevancy and potential of arts-based toolkits in contemporary anti-sexual violence work in universities.
