Abstract

In keeping with the 2019 AERA conference theme, “Leveraging Education Research in a Post-Truth Era: Multimodal Narratives to Democratize Evidence” which urges scholars to “Push back against the post-truth paradigm by demonstrating, with all the skill and energy we can muster, the value of our inquiry and the knowledge we generate,” this symposium submission will provide important insights into the principled resistance of teachers and teacher educators who push back against dominant negative narratives about the expertise and integrity of teachers.
