Session Type: Structured Poster Session
In the last two decades, there has been a growing emphasis on using video in teacher preparation and professional development. An extensive body of research provides evidence for the role of video in teacher learning. This session will shift the focus from whether teachers learn in video-based environments to how these environments are designed to promote learning. It brings together 12 studies on video-based designs to promote pre-and in-service teacher learning in science and mathematics. By describing their most recent findings about the changes in teachers’ learning with video, and highlighting the role their design played in these changes, the papers contribute to knowledge-base on using video to develop knowledge, practices, and dispositions across the trajectory of teacher development.
