Abstract

This symposium draws together educational researchers, artists and anthropologists as generative ‘odd kin’ (Haraway, 2015: 164), as we attune to each other’s ideas about, and practices of qualitative research. Inspired by a UK-based research project ‘Odd: feeling different in the world of education’ (funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council), the papers consider how unexpected collaborations and combinations of art and education force each of us out of our disciplinary 'comfort zones' and methodological habits.
