Session Summary

45.092-4 - The Potential of Intersectionality for Advancing Research Paradigms in STEM: A Cross-Cutting Conversation

Sun, April 7, 9:55 to 11:25am, Metro Toronto Convention Centre, Floor: 800 Level, Hall F

Session Type: Roundtable Session

Abstract

This working group roundtable disrupts the promotion of individual researcher’s work and advances dialogue and collaboration among disciplinary scholars seeking to learn from each other about the potential of Intersectionality. Specifically, the authors take up intersectionality as both analytic framing and methodology to explore a collaborative agenda for advancing research paradigms for women of color and other oppressed groups across the STEM disciplines. We focus our conversations on the macro aspects of Intersectionality that seek to illuminate and dismantle white supremacy and patriarchal systems.
