Session Type: Symposium
This symposium explores the evolution of writing in relation to the researcher’s career, from the beginning of doctoral work through submitting grants as a PI. The three papers focus on writing development and writing conceptions to show how forms of writing and the researcher’s relationship with writing changes as the researcher progresses in academia. The results highlight the role of individual experience, agency, and perceptions of writing. Together, these papers contribute a rich portrait of writing development during the researcher’s career, including the challenges encountered and strategies utilized to navigate the often complex research writing process.
