Session Type: Symposium
The objective of this symposium is to highlight how research on the components of effective early childhood education have successfully informed state policy: What kind of research was conducted, how was it communicated, and what was its effect? The panel will begin with researchers who have been deeply involved in the development of state early learning policies, including high-quality birth-through-preschool programs in North Carolina and New Jersey and effective professional learning in Washington state. Through a discussion moderated by the authors of a new book on the successful implementation of high-quality preschool programs in four states, the panelists will present how they have effectively communicated scholarly research to policymakers in a post-truth era.
