Session Type: Roundtable Session
Representing four states and eight school districts, this symposium brings together researchers and practitioners who are at various levels of cultivating and implementing civics oriented research-practice partnerships. The objectives are twofold: first, to illustrate the tensions and possibilities of supporting policy reform at the district level in today’s highly political climate, and second, to invite fellow researchers, practitioners, and designers who seek to engage in policy reform in their local educational contexts to participate in a community forum where the voices and perspectives of multiple contexts and approaches can be heard.
