This presentation seeks to bolster understandings about the preparation of African American preservice teachers who are trained at Historically Black College and Universities (HBCU). This proposed panel will present findings from varying teacher educators who work at Historically Black Colleges Universities (HBCUs) regarding preparation of African American elementary teacher candidates. Presenters will emphasize outcomes from varying research and theoretical projects that resulted in enhanced preparation of African American teacher candidates to enact Culturally Responsive Pedagogy (CRP).
