79.047 - How Do Different Pathways in the Educational Ecosystem Support Productive Evidence Use?

Tue, April 9, 12:20 to 1:50pm, Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Floor: Mezzanine Level, Alberta

Session Type: Symposium

Abstract

This symposium brings together four research centers from the U.S. and Canada whose work in research use and knowledge mobilization conceptualizes educators and researchers as part of a broader knowledge ecosystem. Such an approach offers a range of pathways by which ideas from research can spread, along with a range of strategies for coordinating the research and practice enterprises. Each center present different pathways or strategies for coordinating elements within this knowledge ecosystem with the goal to expand the field in terms of a) recognition of a broader set of actors, and roles within the knowledge ecosystem and b) exploration of the ecosystem across contexts. Two leaders in the field – representing Canada and the U.S. - will serve as discussants.
