Abstract

Within the scholarship of critical service learning and out-of-school learning within teacher education there are several aspects of authentically working with communities that overlap. As a collective, this panel explores community based clinical placements and service learning as intimately intertwined spheres of education research. Panelists and participants in this will explore theoretical and practiced-based approaches to creating and nurturing community as a third space of equity and justice-focused teacher education (complimenting and challenging school and university contexts).
