Session Summary

25.082-5 - Dimensionality and Estimation: Advancements and Applications in (Multidimensional) Item Response Theory and Factor Analysis

Sat, April 6, 8:00 to 9:30am, Fairmont Royal York Hotel, Floor: Convention Floor, Concert Hall

Session Type: Roundtable Session

Abstract

In this roundtable session, a collection of papers examines the notions of dimensionality across various traditions, including unidimensional and multidimensional IRT as well as factor analytical approaches. Through a series of empirical and simulation studies, the authors examine the utility of generalized structured component analysis in small sample sizes, compare bifactor and unidimensional IRT models, impacts on parameter recovery, and develop discussion about how dimensionality is viewed through different methodological lenses.
