Abstract

The School Reform and Turnaround (STaR) 2019 Distinguished Speaker Talk & Business Meeting will commence with a keynote presentation around insights and lessons learned from School Improvement Grants (SIG) and the interrelationship between Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA) and SIGs. Dr. Kerstin Carlson Le Floch, a managing researcher at American Institute for Research, will deliver the keynote as STaR’s 2019 Distinguished Speaker. Additionally, STaR SIG’s Leadership Team will recognize outstanding research contributions through a presentation of awards. 2019 STaR award recipients are: Emerging Scholar Award will be presented to Dr. Henry Tran from the University of South Carolina, and 2019 STaR SIG’s Student Travel Award will be presented to Eric Ambroso from ASU. The meeting will conclude with the membership meeting.
