Abstract

Cultural Historical Activity Theory has been influential in many disciplines. Having influenced both theoretical perspectives and methodological approaches over the years of its existence, it created space and time for the meeting of the minds of scholars that draw on Vygotsky, Luria, Leont’ev, Bakhtin, Mead (and others) in their intellectual endeavors. A diverse grouping of researchers who approach learning, development and social change from a cultural-historical, socio-cultural and activity theoretical perspective is growing, with a new generation of scholars already on our doorsteps. It is, therefore, essential to remember our historical roots to define the future. We invite people from different generations of cultural-historical research and practice to get together, to recollect the past and plan for the future.
