Abstract

Data visualizations through the use of infographics, interactive formats, and online platforms present a promising ways to communicate complex research findings to a broad audience. The purpose of this session is to bring together scholars, other information disseminators and journalists across disciplines who use data visualization to inform policymakers (GIS, social network, infographics, redlining maps). What kinds of questions are being asked and answered through data visualization? What gets left out? What are the uses for data visualization and what are its limits?
