Working across six research sites, our pan-Canadian team has collaborated to explore how education can be increasingly connected to the growth of the creative economy (CE). This research is in response to findings suggesting that much education focuses on skill-training that rarely stimulates creativity (Wiebe, 2013). Establishing links to the CE using a comparative case study, we propose that teachers embrace an ethos of creativity and agency. As such, site-specific creative strategies have been fostered to support teachers, learners and communities. To analyze the breadth of traditional and multimodal data from each site, we employ the Parallaxic Praxis model (Sameshima & Vandermause, 2008), which relies on difference, dialogue, and creativity propulsion processes to generate and mobilize knowledge across epistemologies and audiences.
