Abstract

Round table participants will provide their perspectives on the role of the Standards for Educational and Psychological Testing (2014) in classroom assessment and how the Standards’ foundational concepts of validity and fairness apply in teaching, assessment and learning. The session will consider applications in assessment of, for and as learning and extend from curriculum-embedded to interim and annual standards-based accountability testing that influence teachers’ practice. Connections to teachers’ assessment literacy also will be explored.
Round table participants represent both AERA’s classroom assessment SIG and NCME’s classroom assessment task force and reflect diverse perspectives on classroom assessment.
