Abstract

Come visit Oakwood Collegiate Institute, a public high school governed by the Toronto District School Board. The Toronto District School Board has been implementing systematic destreaming/detracking efforts and Oakwood Collegiate was the first in the district to eliminate all applied-level courses for it’s 9th grade students. The program will include and overview of the history of destreaming at Oakwood Collegiate Institute, panelist discussions with students and staff, and classroom visits/observations. Lunch will be provided as part of the trip.
