Creativity in Computer-Supported Collaborative Learning Environments

Abstract

This design-based research study applied the Creativity Landscape conceptual framework as a conceptual lens through which to evaluate and operationalize creativity in the design of a hybrid computer-supported collaborative learning environment. Over three iterations, the framework was useful in increasing the facilitation of creativity. However, improvements in digitally-mediated aspects of the design were found to be difficult to achieve in comparison to improvements in the face-to-face aspects. Findings suggest a need for more research on facilitating creativity in computer-supported collaborative learning.
