This qualitative study examined eleven principals’ perceptions of how a professional coaching model assisted principals (n=7) and assistant principals (n= 4) in developing self- efficacy and leadership capacity on their campuses. Eleven campus principals/assistant principals engaged in a seven-month process employing a professional coaching model (eight elementary and three middle schools) within one school district. An internationally certified coach implemented the coaching model and interviewed participants. The data collected focused on the principals’ perceptions of professional coaching. Findings indicate four themes from two divisions (teacher and principal) emerged from the thematic content analysis of the principals' interview transcripts: Theme 1 (T1) Teacher Self-Efficacy, Theme 2 (T2) Teacher-Leadership Capacity, Theme 3 (T3) Principal Self-Efficacy, and Theme 4 (T4) Campus-Leadership Capacity.
