Exploring Leadership Practices for Sustained Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports Implementation

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate the inherent leadership practices that school administrators and leadership teams utilize to promote effective, successful, and sustainable school-wide Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS). To identify the specific practices and approaches to implementation that school leaders used the study was designed to three research questions that focused on: practices and processes utilize to facilitate the implementation of a PBIS framework; challenges establishing a high quality, sustainable, school-wide PBIS framework implementation; and impacts successfully implemented PBIS framework has on schools.
