Collaboration to Inform Reference and Instruction Librarians' Practice With Research in Educational Psychology

Sat, April 18, 10:35am to 12:05pm, Virtual Room

Abstract

This paper describes a collaborative writing project between an educational psychologist and academic librarian that generated a series of 12 academic articles focused on helping college/university librarians develop knowledge of human development, learning, motivation, and instruction. The articles were written based on educational psychology principles, research, and application to provide improved instruction to college students to enhance their academic abilities. It argues for more collaboration between educational psychologists and academic professionals across disciplines and departments, both locally and globally, to help decrease the boundaries that inhibit the cross-fertilization of knowledge, research, and applications among education professionals.
