Abstract

This research study explores how two female post-tenure faculty experience and navigate the living contradictions and tensions of teacher education faculty who understand and appreciate scholarly activity but who have also been tapped to fulfill intensive service obligations to their respective academic departments and to their college. The purpose of this study is to explore the informal education of non-scripted work for tenured faculty, using critical friends in a self-study to uncover epistemological frames that are left otherwise hidden in the masculine contexts of higher education.
