Abstract

This paper presents preliminary findings from a study examining teacher and student perceptions of controversial issues discussions in Singapore secondary schools. The study addresses gaps in scholarship about the role of emotions and impact of cultural contexts in mediating teacher and student responses to controversial issues discussions.
