Abstract

The purpose of the current study is to examine global perspectives in contemporary children’s literature to support global education. The content analysis shows that the picturebooks reflect several important elements of global education. However, certain dimensions of global education prevail and the imbalance among the topics was visible. The findings offer both possibilities and limitations in facilitating global perspectives through children’s literature. The findings also provide future directions to support cosmopolitan perspectives in this globalized world.
