Disability Self-Identification Patterns and Accommodation Use for Adult Learners Within the Postsecondary Environment

Abstract

This research explores self-identification and accommodations use for undergraduate adult learners. Findings highlight that adult learners are less likely to self-identify in college, even if they disclose in other settings. Due to stigma and negative work experiences related to disability, students may be hesitant to disclose a disability in college.
