The study investigates the relationship between teachers’ implementation of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) in mathematics and English/language arts (ELA) instruction and students’ performance as measured by the state’s standardized test. Participants include ELA and mathematics teachers in grades 3-8 in a district with scaled up UDL implementation district-wide. Students were in grades 3-8 who took the state test. The correlational analyses’ findings showed that elementary teachers’ UDL implementation scores significantly correlated with the mean class score of the state test in ELA, math, and a combined score of ELA and math for elementary students. Additionally, teachers teaching math at the middle school level with high UDL implementation scores showed a significant correlation to students obtaining higher standardized test scores.
